Paper Butterfly – Solidarity Donation for Immigrants

Things aren’t right here in Minnesota. And they won’t be for a while.

Immigrants power hospitality. They run businesses. They feed people. They welcome us to their tables. We stand with them.

From March 1 through May 31, 2026, we’re raising money for Centro de Trabajadores Unidos en la Lucha — a worker center organizing for dignity on the job for immigrant and low-wage workers.

Donate in increments of $15. 

We’ll mail you a paper butterfly folded by our founder, Hally. We’ll include a second sheet and instructions so you can fold one and pass it on.

All money received will be donated. On June 1, 2026, we will donate at least $500, no matter what.

1. Why paper butterflies? Paper butterflies are symbols of migration and transformation. Butterflies move and cross borders. They don’t ask permission to exist. Paper butterflies are small and physical. Something you can hold. A reminder that you chose to stand with immigrants.
2. Why CTUL? Centro de Trabajadores Unidos en la Lucha is worker-led. The people most impacted are the ones organizing. Their work centers racial, gender, and economic justice. Those values are intertwined. You don’t get one without the others. Belonging and dignity aren’t abstract ideas for Per Se. They’re core to the founding team, especially now.
3. Why now? You may have heard about the recent surge of ICE agents in Minnesota. Even as their presence decreases, the impact lingers. People missed work. Businesses shut down. Students stayed home. When fear enters a community, the economic fallout follows. And, those with the least will feel it the longest. We need to keep showing up for each other.
4. Why should I pay Per Se instead of supporting CTUL directly? You can donate directly to CTUL, to someone else, or not at all. We will donate at least $500 regardless. This fundraiser is one way for our community to show up together. No pressure. Just an invitation.
